Billing is fully integrated with the rest of
MDoffice and uses validation rules for missing or
unacceptable data to reduce denials and maximize
reimbursements. Patient and insurance responsibilities are
calculated automatically and provide complete tracking of
unpaid claims telling you when the claim was created, when
it was last billed, how much was claimed, and which
insurance company is responsible. Also see Payment Management.
Claim Drawer
The Claim Drawer allows you to quickly find, view and
select complete details of any claim with interactive
browsing. The Claim Drawer displays a scrolling list of any
existing claim records for all patients along with other
information needed for finding any claim quickly. Whenever
you create claims, they're automatically displayed and
organized in the Claim Drawer along with filtered queries so
it can be quickly found. Instant access to your claim and
billing data makes posting payments and accounts receivable
much easier to manage and control.
Claim Services
The Claim Services tab is where you enter multiple CPT
procedures and charge details for services rendered on a
line-item basis -- one line for each procedure performed.
Referring physicians, referrals and authorizations can be
easily assigned to claims. Once all procedure transactions
for a visit have been entered, it's easy to highlight, edit,
delete, or even add additional charges to a claim helping
ensure that all necessary paperwork is completed. On-line
treatment and diagnosis code tables along with easy to setup
validation rules reduce denials and optimize reimbursements.
Claim Case
The Claim Case tab holds additional data required to create
insurance claims and tracks a patient's complete episode of
care for a specified case until the medical problem is
resolved. This allows you to group charges for specific
ailments and conditions together within a patients account.
This is where any additional documentation required to
create a HCFA insurance claim form is entered. This case
specific information can be entered either during or after
the posting of charges for a patient on a per-claim basis. A
case describes a major problem or ailment that a patient
could have, both current and recurring.
Claim Notes
The Claim Notes tab organizes notes and comments for billing
and payment accounting. It serves as a convenient place to
store different types of specific billing and reimbursement
notes and reminders on a per-claim basis. It can show any
internal comments to help in tracking each claim, whether
it's for charges, payments or adjustments. Claim notes can
be used to more fully describe and document a claim's
transactions and to automatically track and document
procedure and diagnoses coding tasks.
Claim Ledger
The Claim Ledger tab displays a detailed spreadsheet ledger
view of all billing and financial transactions created for a
claim (procedure charges, payments, writeoffs and
adjustments). Patient, insurance and claim balances are
always current, aged -- totals are recalculated as soon as
charges or payments are posted. At a glance, view dates of
service and line item payments within claims and easily keep
track of patient copays. It represents a complete, organized
audit trail of how payments where allocated to patient
charges, showing exactly how each payment was disbursed.
Claim Ticklers
The Claim Ticklers tab shows the status of all tasks related
to each claim and also shows the major billing events that
happen in the life of each claim. It shows the claim's
reimbursement progression and tracks transfers of
responsibilities until fully paid or written off -- when a
claim was created, when it was billed, and to whom. This
includes all rebilling, rejections or denials, until the
claim is finally paid, transferred to the patient, or
written off in full. Complete billing history also track
when, how and to whom insurance claims and statements are
sent.
